More about vows!

In this day and age there are many choices that people make about their lives.  In the last blog the topic was vows and all of those were religious in nature.  Choices that are hard make.  Now to add to that.  Vows with no mention of God.
If your feathers are a little ruffled just put them down this is not to get people all upset.  This is a choice that people have.  The first thing that comes to everyone's mind is "SATAN worshippers."  Don't judge it is not the case at all.  I have done some weddings that have asked for this type of vow and they are all good people.  In some cases nicer people.  The couples were not Christian but of different faiths and wanted a nice ceremony.  The vows I use are heart felt, warm and speak more about God without the mention of the name.  I incorporate those vows in with vows that mention God.  They are also used by people of different faiths getting married to avoid fighting among the families.  That is more of a problem.
All that I have to say is, keep an open mind and listen to the words.  God always speaks to those that are listening.

Blessings on your day!

VOWS!  What style do I need?

Vows, vows and more vows!!!

This is something that every couple thinks about.  Sometimes the last minute.  There are many different vows out there.  Some couples prefer to write their own, others will just say you do it.  Either way that is the main part of the wedding.

Which type to use is the biggest debate.  Traditional, comtemporary, or civil.  If you are looking for vows that mention God go with the traditional or comtemporary.  The biggest difference in the two is the wording of them.  Traditional vows are like the ones you hear on tv or in movies, more of a King James style of writing.  Thy, Thee, Whosoever is the wording here.  The scriptures used here are the same way, more of traditional style verses. Contemporary vows are more modern day verbage and have verses that are more in tune with today's time.  I suggest that the couple look for verses that are meaningful to them and talk to your minister about what may be right for you.
Civil vows have no mention of God in them and are what you would hear from a Justice of the Peace.  You as a couple still have the ability to change up the vows to make them personal to you.  Do think that it is just a cookie cutter vow that you have to go with.

I use the above as templates to start off vows.  I prefer to custom write vows and combine from all three when I can.  They all have very good points and some very touching sentences. The choice is yours as a couple on how you want your day to be.

Blessings and good luck on your wedding day.

Summer time Summer time

SUMMER is upon us!!!!!  During the summer many people are wanting to get married or renew vows.  School is out, sports are winding down and the family has some time to spend together.  Vacations are being planned and don't forget the 4th of July.  Wow!!!! Many things to think about and little time to do it.

South central Texas is also known for hot, dry summers and the chance of surprise thunderstorms.  Something else to think about during this time.  Being in a drought we also have and have had the chance for wildfires.

A few things to make it easier is to remember that lots of water will make the day easier.  Have plenty on hand for the wedding party and guests the last thing you want is for someone to have heat stroke.  Make sure you have an indoor backup plan just in case the outdoor venue will not work.  Communicate with members of the family so that vacations or other plans won't interfer with each other.

Summer weddings can be fun, enjoyable and a great success with a little planning on the part of the bride and groom.  Always remember ASK for help if you get overwelhmed, people are there to help you out and make your day special.

Many blessings on your day and have a blessed, safe, fun, exciting summer wedding.
