I did my first hospital wedding yesterday. It was one of the most emotional ceremonies that I have done. The couple is in their mid 20's and he was recently diagnosed with cancer. They have been planning their wedding for quite a few months now and it has been a great journey until recently. I got to the hospital and before we even started the wedding I said a prayer of healing while everyone laid hands on him. I anointed him with oil and then we started the wedding. I watched as the couple pledged their vows and placed rings on each others fingers. He tried his best to keep going. I had them sit on a bench in the chapel so that he could rest better and he wasn't in the wheelchair the whole time. She sat next to him throughout. Once I pronounced them he laid on her shoulder and wept. The day he was looking forward to happened. What a lovely couple and what a humbling blessing it was to me to be a part of their day. I wish them both many years of happiness and for a recovery.
Blessings to all.
