Something New in the processional

8/7/2016

Last night for the first time I did a reverse processional into the ceremony.  It was different and it took a little planning to do and a lot of turning for the for me and the couple.  It was quite different for me to do.  It was very interesting seeing the looks on the guests faces as we entered.
A little more about the venue.  It was a prison for the Imperial Sugar company and was built in 1939.  I noticed that the there were odd cuts on the walls and the bricks were rounded.  On the front of the building in concrete it said Central State Farm.  I thought at first that it was a sugar farm barn, boy was I wrong. Hopefully soon I will get the pictures from the photographer and I asked for the one of the wedding cake with a T-Rex standing over it. That was cool.  Look for more on this wedding and the venue soon.
Brides and grooms make your wedding special find the venue that will stand out to people and make them all go WOW! you will love it all in the end.
Have a great day and blessings on everyone.

A MISTAKE that a bride can make to ruin the day.

7/15/2016

I have had the pleasure of working with many different brides and grooms and the one thing that I have learned is that they are all nervous.  This is common and expected.  You as a couple will be the center of attention for the whole day.  To be honest with you, everyone there is nervous even the vendors, they don't want anything to go wrong on your day.
The BIG MISTAKE that can happen then is what?  Well, it is the little thing called liquor and pills to help calm a person down.  It is ok to have a little drink or if the drug is prescribed for to take one but, not right before you walk down the aisle.  It makes for a messy ceremony and if it is being video taped a lasting memory of the things that went wrong on that day.  You tend to forget how to speak, your eyes are glassy, and your walk is not as it should be.  The officiant may not sign the marriage license if that person thinks that you are not at full compacity.  Don't let your day be ruined by a little nerves and the wrong decision.  Take time to breath, talk with your officiant, and know that people love you no matter what.  It is your day keep it special.

Love and peace to you all.
Blessings.

Networking

Good evening everyone!!! How has your day gone? I have learned a few things over the past few weeks. It is the need to network with others in the same field.  I used to be the type of person to think that we were all competition and that I had to out do the others.  Guess what????  I was wrong!!  I know some can't believe that I just admitted that.  I have learned that to get ahead in business you must make friends in the business.  I have made quite a few new friends and I am loving it.  They have ideas me and I have learned from them.  Great ideas flowing from all of us.  So if you know of people in the business please feel free to have them call, text, or email me.  I would be happy to start a network with them all.

Blessings on your day.

Refreshing Couple

In all the couples that I talk with, the couple that I talked with last night was one that I will never forget.  As we sat there talking the groom to be was very considerate of his bride to be.  Whatever she needed he got it for her.  When he would talk about her, his face would light up.  He stated that he was ready for the wedding to happen, we are six months out from the wedding, and not because it was a pain in planning or because he is tired of it.  It is because he can't wait to marry the love of his life.  He can't wait to see her for the first time as his bride.  He got a little teary eyed thinking about it.  She was just as excited and tried to keep them both professional during the conversation.  As we were talking he was telling me about his dreams and it went something like this.  "I have always wanted to be married and have a family and I knew it had to be with the right person.  I was waiting for the right on......... No, I was waiting for her to come into my life.  She is the one that will make my dream come true."
People ask me what I get out of officiating weddings.  I get to see humanity at it's best and love that in unconditional.  I get to be a part of something that is remembered for a lifetime.  I get to be face to face with it.  That is what I  LOVE about this officiating thing.  I get renewed in the fact that love is out there.

Ideas and thoughts

I have been thinking about what I would like to do in the way of weddings.  In the role of officiating or planning.  I have been thinking about themed weddings.  With costumes and all the trimmings..  Some that have crossed my mind are a renaissance, western, southern, haunted house, sit down in the grass and have a wedding, more same sex couples, and others that I might have forgotten.  I think that a wedding ceremony should be about the couple and that they should be able to do as they like and long as it is not illegal.  For friends here in the Austin area ask your friends if they would like something like that or if you want a vow renewal or an anniversary celebration like that please feel free to contact me.  I am willing to sit down and discuss the plans with anyone that is willing to make this kind of plan.  Just some thoughts of mine please feel free to share some of your thoughts on this and any leads you might know of.

Blessings on your day.

I get to work with many different vendors and venues.  These companies and people work just as hard as I do to make the day special for the bride and groom.  There are a few that I have had the pleasure of working with on more than one occasion.  I would like to shout out a big "THANK YOU!" to them.  Pete at Best DJs Texas, Amanda at Thoroughly Polished, Caroline Poe photographer, and J and D productions.  If you are ever in need of a DJ, photographer or a planner, (besides me) please give these people a call.
Have a happy sun shiny day.

Happy Spring to all!

Springtime is here.  The time when weddings are taking place,  the flowers are in bloom and everyone wants to be outdoors.  If you are planning a wedding for the spring keep a few things in mind.  Weather being the first and foremost.  With the amount of rain that we have  had here in central Texas and with all the creatures out and about remember snakes are out as well.  If you are having an outdoor wedding and it is going to be in the country please be sure to keep that in mind.  We have a good population of them at the moment and it seems to be of the rattle kind that have increased in number.  Be sure to think about insects as well.  The flying little blood suckers are in high number as well.  Protect yourself and your guests during your special day.
Have a wonderful Spring and smile it is your day and make it all about you.
Blessings.

Tomorrow 4/1/2016 will be a first for me.  The ceremony will have an April's Fool theme to it.  What fun!  Those that know me know that this is right up my alley.  I enjoy being a prankster and a trickster.  Some things may be made up for this ceremony, only those that pay attention will know what is going on.  I will post that ceremony on this page after the ceremony.  I will let you all know when it is on.  Please read it.
Blessing on you all and on the couple that will be wed.

Spring Time is upon us and weddings are happening!!

It is that time of year when weddings are in the air.  I have wonderful couples that I am working with this Spring to make their special day amazing.  I am now a certified wedding planner and will soon be a certified pre-marital counselor for the state of Texas.  Many hours of work go into this business and I enjoy every minute of it.  There are many joys in working with couples for their weddings.  Seeing the smiles, tears, laughter, and most of all seeing the love that is there, right in front of me.  Watching the earth come to life and watching the couple I can only think that they too are starting anew and blooming into something new.
If you read this and you know of someone that is needing a wedding officiant or a planning give them my name and number.  Making someone's dream come true is what I do.
Many blessings on all.
