I have been asked why I charge what I charge and why are some more than mine. I look at it this way. I am doing this out of a calling. I am not doing this to make my retirement or be the million dollar officiant on Bravo TV. I enjoy what I do and enjoy seeing the look on the faces of the bride and groom. Watching the tears, smiles, and hugs. That is my pay day.
One of my couples said that they searched for many months to find the right officiant and once they talked with me they knew I was the right one. I am just myself. Do I need to charge more for the experience and the amount of time I have been doing this? I don't think I should.
When you are searching for anyone to do a job for you remember a few things:
Ask around and look at reviews of the person you are hiring. That is the most important of all.

When you are searching for anyone to do a job for you remember a few things:
- More experience does not always mean the right fit your you.
- Because they charge more they are better at the job they do. Cheaper rates means not a good job.
- If the person you hire won't work with you on things that are out of anyone's control, that is not good.
- Respect each other for the job they do and for what you are expecting.
